Senior Scaries

As February nears its end, I have no choice but to become more worried and more stressed as graduation in May approaches. Lately I feel like there is so much to do and so little time left to do it. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if people are feeling the same sort of anxiety that I am feeling about graduating. Although it should be super exciting, as it is an amazing achievement, I am worried about what happens after.

Additionally, there is so much preparation to do be done prior to the actual date. Although some thing are more so mundane tasks, their addition to the list of "Things To Do" does not make completing the tasks any less daunting. Some of the things currently on my list: buy senior portraits, customize and order sash, order cap and gown, buy a dress, schedule graduation photos, make plans for a post graduation family celebration (taking suggestions!).

Most important on my list, GET A JOB! As someone who has not yet secured a job following graduation, I am extra worried 🙃. I have been doing what I can on my end to meet with career advisors and sending in application on Handshake by the dozen, but no luck so far. As someone with not much job experience, it turns out it's rather difficult to get experience.

I hope any other seniors out there experiencing any similar feelings are hanging in there!

  2. Hi Vivian, I totally get how you're feeling. It is extremely stressful (and expensive) to be graduating and trying to make plans for the future. I am sure you will figure it out and everything will work out! Good luck!

  3. Hey Vivian, I understand your stress. Securing a job is extremely stressful, but know that you’re not alone and a lot of people are dealing with the same problems you’re facing. I am on the hunt for an internship right now and it is so much more challenging than expected. With all that said, cool heads prevail!

  5. Hi Vivian, senior spring is tough, contrary to what I had thought. I think we are all going through a momentous shift in our lives, and it is completely normal. Hang in there and you've got it!
